MORTLACH (DUFFTOWN)
The project in Dufftown, part of the historic Mortlach parish, was led by fieldworker-musicians Hamish Napier and David Francis across 2022 and 2023.
Collaborating with Dufftown and District Community Association, Mortlach Hall Committee, Dufftown Speirin’s, Dufftown British Legion, and Mortlach School, community members participated in action research primarily involving mapping activities, such as photo and map displays, and local music, including school songwriting workshops and Stramash sessions.
Additionally, the fieldworkers oversaw the production of a Dufftown ABC poster and two community concerts and ceilidhs.
